The Ducks have re-signed LW Patrick Maroon to a one-year, two-way contract. In 66 games last season with both the Adirondack Phantoms and the Syracuse Crunch, Maroon scored 26 goals and 30 assists for 56 points, a +5 rating, and 98 penalty minutes.
After joining the Crunch, Maroon ranked second on the team with 48 points and third on the team with 21 goals and a +6 rating. His 15 power play goals was second in the AHL.
At 6’4″ and 225 pounds, Maroon provides an excellent combination of size and skill. His 6 fighting majors ranked fifth on the team.
Maroon was drafted in the 6th round (161st overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. In 214 AHL games over 4 seasons, Maroon has totaled 60-94=154 points and 285 PIMs.
