The Anaheim Ducks have announced that they have re-signed right wing Brian McGrattan to a one-year, two-way contract. Last year, McGrattan scored 4 goals and 6 assists for 10 points and 56 PIMs in 20 games with the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL.
According to CapGeek.com, McGrattan’s contract is worth $600,000.
McGrattan was acquired by the Anaheim Ducks last season in a deal that brought him and Sean Zimmerman over from the Boston Bruins in exchange for Stefan Chaput and David Laliberte. He spent the entire 2010-2011 season in the AHL, producing 10-5=15 points and 153 PIMs with both Providence and Syracuse. McGrattan has accumulated 62 points and 1,206 PIMs in 256 career AHL games. At the NHL level, he has scored 14 points and 395 PIMs in 182 career games.
Standing at 6’4″ and weighing 234 pounds, McGrattan is an intimidating presence that will provide protection for the Ducks’ prospects in the AHL.
