The Anaheim Ducks have trimmed their training camp roster down to 30 players, making roster cuts on both Sunday and Monday.
On Sunday, the Ducks have assigned RW Emerson Etem back to his junior team the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL. The Ducks also assigned centers Mark Bell and Rick Schofield, right wing Matt Kennedy, and defensemen Mathieu Carle and Jake Newton to the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL. Sunday’s cuts brought the roster down to 37 players. The Ducks continued to pare down the roster, making more cuts the next day.
Seven more players were sent to Syracuse on Monday: centers Nick Bonino and Peter Holland, right wings Kyle Palmieri and Dan Sexton, left wing Nicolas Deschamps, and defensemen Mat Clark and Sean Zimmerman.
Bell, Carle, Sexton, and Zimmerman were all required to pass through waivers before being assigned to Syracuse. All four cleared waivers this morning.
The recent roster cuts leave the Ducks with 30 players on their roster: 16 forwards, 10 defensemen, and 4 goalies.
