The Anaheim Ducks have announced the signing of free agent center Mark Bell to a one-year, two-way contract. A former member of the Chicago Blackhawks, San Jose Sharks, and Toronto Maple Leafs, Bell has spent the past two seasons in the Swiss Nationalliga A.
Bell was drafted in the 1st round (8th overall) in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft by Chicago. In 445 NHL games, Bell has totaled 87 goals, 95 assists for a total of 182 points and 597 PIMs. Last year with the Kloten Flyers he recorded 16-9=25 and 58 PIMs with a +12 rating in 41 games.
Standing at 6’4″ and weighing 220 pounds, Bell adds size and muscle to the forward group, whether he plays for the Ducks or the Syracuse Crunch.
