Cogliano, 24, scored 11 goals and 24 assists for 35 points in 82 games played in the 2010-2011 season, and led the team with 461 faceoff wins.
In four seasons with the Oilers, Cogliano has played in all 328 regular season games, never missing a game over that span. He has accumulated 57-89=146 points and 137 PIMs over those four seasons.
Cogliano was drafted in the first round (25th overall) by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. The Ducks still need to sign Cogliano, who is a restricted free agent. An arbitration hearing is scheduled for July 21st, but a deal can be signed before then.
With his speed, durability, and faceoff prowess, Cogliano could be an excellent checking line center that will hopefully provide some consistency for the Ducks’ third or fourth line.
