On the first day of free agency, the Anaheim Ducks traded defenseman Andy Sutton to the Edmonton Oilers for defenseman Kurtis Foster.
Sutton, signed to a two-year contract in July of 2010, appeared in just 39 games last season with the Ducks, scoring 0 goals and 4 assists with a +1 rating and 87 PIMs.
Foster is also going into the second year of a two-year contract. In 74 games with the Oilers last season, Foster recorded 8 goals and 14 assists with a -12 rating and 45 PIMs.
According to CapGeek.com, the Ducks will save $0.325 million in cap space as a result of the trade.
